Invitation for Clinical Cases

Delegates attending the Society for Endocrinology BES 2008 in Harrogate are invited to submit clinical cases for discussion in the ‘Clinical Expert’ sessions. Three interesting or controversial cases will be selected for each of the topics, which are as follows:

Tuesday 8 April

Management of prolactinoma
J Bevan (Aberdeen)

Clinical management of MEN 1 or 2
R Thakker (Oxford)

Wednesday 9 April

Peri-operative care of phaeos
M Serpell (Glasgow)

Thyroid disease in pregnancy
J Lazarus (Cardiff)

Thursday 10 April

Obesity surgery – who, what and when?
J Wilding (Liverpool)

Investigation of possible Cushing’s
R Ross (Sheffield)

The authors of the selected cases will be asked to present their case for 5 minutes, after which the expert will comment and open the discussion.  The case should not be rare or exotic but, rather, should focus on practical aspects of research, clinical diagnosis and/or management. Please note cases selected will also be required to be presented in the repeat sessions.  The synopsis of your case should be sent in a Word document, as an attachment to an email to:
shirine.borbor@endocrinology.org. Your synopsis should be no more than 300 words.
