About the Autumn Endocrine Retreat 2009

On behalf of the Society for Endocrinology’s Science Committee, we are delighted to welcome you to the 2nd Autumn Endocrine Retreat. This event is due to take place at the picturesque Milton Hill Hall in Oxfordshire between 16-18 October 2009. We anticipate delegates will be Society members who are registered for PhDs or MDs, and early-career post doc. researchers, with an interest in pursuing a career in scientific research in endocrinology.

The aims of our retreat are simple:

  • To foster scientific interactions between trainee members of the Society in a non-threatening environment.
  • To deliver key-note lectures from established endocrine researchers on topical subjects particularly related to career development.
  • To provide an informal setting to present data and discuss research approaches.

Over the course of the retreat, you will have the opportunity to present and discuss your work with your peers, participate in group work designed to help your project planning and management skills, and learn from established endocrine researchers who have experienced the high’s and low’s (and then high’s again!) of a scientific career. You will have the support of several academic tutors from a range of backgrounds, including established endocrine researchers, group leaders and newly appointed faculty.

We look forward to welcoming you on the 16th October and urge you to register your interest early as places are strictly limited.
