Call for Cases
The submission deadline has now passed.
Please submit your abstract on a single A4 sheet; begin with the title followed by the presenting author’s name, the names of the other authors and then give details of the institution(s).
On a separate page to accompany your abstract, please provide your details: full name, grade, email address, telephone and fax numbers. Send your abstract via email to conferences@endocrinology.org. Should you wish to discuss the suitability of your case for presentation, please contact Dr Andy Toogood, Email: andrew.toogood@uhb.nhs.uk.
The presenting author of abstracts accepted for presentation will be notified at the end of October. Ten abstracts will be invited for oral presentation and all others will be displayed as posters. Accepted abstracts will be featured on the Society for Endocrinology’s website http://www.endocrinology.org/education/. A book of abstracts will be made available to all delegates attending the meeting.
Prizes for the two highest scoring oral (1st prize £250, runner-up £150) and poster presentations (£100 each) will be awarded to authors below the grade of consultant at an awards ceremony during the evening wine reception.
Format:
Registration will open at 13:30 with refreshments.
Posters will be available to be viewed at 14:00, 16:00 and 17:30.
Oral presentations will commence at 14:30. Each presentation will last a total of 20 minutes, will highlight why the case is of interest and how it advances our understanding of endocrinology, and will finish with an open discussion.
The meeting will end with a short wine reception and awards ceremony, and be followed by the Caledonian Society for Endocrinology Annual Meeting.
The Caledonian Society for Endocrinology Prize Lecture
Members of the Caledonian Society for Endocrinology (for joining instructions please see website http://www.calsocendo.org/join.htm) may also wish to submit abstracts for the above lecture that will take place during their Annual Meeting. The aim of this prestigious award is to recognise high quality research in any area of basic or clinical science. Abstracts (no longer than 300 words) are invited from young endocrinologists who have recently completed a period of research leading to an MD/PhD. The award winner will be invited to give a lecture at the Caledonian Society for Endocrinology Annual Meeting which will follow the Clinical Cases Meeting and will receive a prize of £350.
