In addition to any travel grants offered by other societies, funding for travel is available from the Society for Endocrinology/Clinical Endocrinology Trust for members of the Society for Endocrinology. The deadline for receipt of completed forms is 15 December 2009.

Clinical Endocrinology Trust prizes
The Clinical Endocrinology Trust is an independent body that utilizes profits from the publication of Clinical Endocrinology to support the development of endocrinology and the education of students and specialists.
The trust is generously funding the following prizes:-
- Two £500 prizes for the best submitted clinical and basic abstracts. These abstracts will have no restriction criteria, but will be judged purely on the top scoring data and on presentation
- One £100 prize for the best submitted nurse abstract where the nurse is the first author
- One £100 prize for the best submitted Clinical practice/governance and case report abstract
Annette Louise Seal Memorial Award
The Addison's Disease Self-Help Group is launching the Annette Louise Seal Memorial Award, with a prize of £500 for the nursing submission which best advances the clinical management of adrenal insufficiency where the first author is a nurse. Submissions may cover any aspect of emergency prevention and treatment, the management and monitoring of replacement therapy or associated patient education. Please indicate if you wish to be considered for this award when you submit your abstract.
British Thyroid Association Award
The British Thyroid Association is offering an award to a young researcher who submits a high-scoring abstract in the ‘Thyroid’ category, where the first author is under the age of 35.
Association for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Disorders (AMEND) Young Investigator’s Award
The first author of the highest scoring abstract in the ‘endocrine tumours and neoplasia’ category will receive a £300 honorarium, certificate and medal. Criteria for eligibility are as follows:
- Applicants must be 35 years of age or less
- Must be studying for a higher degree, eg PhD/MD or within three years of completing a higher degree
- Must be a UK citizen or the research must have primarily taken place in the UK
- Abstracts must be on the subject of the combined or individual conditions associated with MEN1, MEN2a, MEN2b or FMTC
- The winning abstract author will be required to present their work at the AMEND AGM. This will be held on Saturday 8 May 2010 in London. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by AMEND in accordance with the AMEND expenses policy.
