NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureships in Endocrinology & Diabetes, South West England

Via www.jobs.nhs.uk. Applications are invited for an NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureships (ACL) in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus at ST3 level commencing from August 2012. NIHR ACLs are specialty training posts that incorporate academic training. The successful applicant will spend 50% of their time undertaking specialist clinical training and 50% undertaking research or educationalist training.

ACLs are aimed at those who are advanced in their specialty training, have completed a research doctorate or equivalent and show outstanding potential for continuing a career in academic medicine or dentistry. The duration of an ACL is for a maximum of four years and it is expected that ACLs will complete their specialty training during this period. Alongside clinical training, ACLs will be able to further develop their academic skills and will be encouraged to apply for funding to support further postdoctoral or educationalist training.
