Hormones inside and out - how lifestyle choices and chemicals
in the environment can shape our lives and bodies
A recent report in the New England Journal of Medicine1 shows
that lavender and tea tree oils, found in some cosmetic products such
as shampoo and soaps, may lead to the development of breast tissue in
young boys.
What choices are you making that may affect you or your children’s
development and health?
To coincide with Britain’s biggest hormone conference, the Society
for Endocrinology presents a public lecture exploring how lifestyle
choices, hormones in our body and chemicals in the environment can affect
matters as important as obesity, stress and sexual development.
Three experts in the field will ask questions such as: how are our
hormones affected by the choices we make in our diet and lifestyle?
Can the choices of a mother influence her developing fetus, possibly
for life? Do chemicals in the environment shape our bodies?
