A full time research fellow position is available for 3 years in the School of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, University of Birmingham, UK, which is funded by the Medical Research Council. The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary research team investigating the role of P450 oxidoreductase as a novel regulator of steroid synthesis and metabolism in health and disease led by Professor Wiebke Arlt within the Centre for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team focussing on the pre-receptor regulation of sex steroid action fuelled by the discovery of human mutations in P450 oxidoreductase (Lancet 2004) and PAPS synthase (N Engl J Med 2009). He/she will perform and develop in vitro and ex vivo assays, employing a wide array of biochemical, molecular and cell biology techniques. He/she will work at the interface of biology and medicine and contribute to the development of novel concepts in a vibrant interdisciplinary environment.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in biology, biomedical science or a related subject.
