The Louis-Jeantet Foundation offers one or more prestigious prizes each year to researchers who distinguish themselves in the field of biomedical research in Europe. Of the CHF 700,000 prize money a significant proportion is designated as financing for the recipient's ongoing research, distinguishing the prize as a recognition of excellence rather than a reward for a completed body of work.
