Via healthjobsuk.com. The position of Diabetes Network Research Nurse is available within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a Band 7 post on a fixed term contract until 31 March 2012 on a salary of £29,789 - £39,273 pa pro rata.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Nurse to advance their career in clinical research. In recognition of the immediate and growing importance of diabetes to public health in the UK, the Diabetes Research Network has been established by the DoH through the UK Clinical Research Network (UKCRN). There are eight local Diabetes Research Networks across England, one of which is the Eastern Region Local Diabetes Research network (EDRLN). The goal of the network is to achieve benefits for people with diabetes, or at risk of developing diabetes through excellence in clinical research.

The winning candidate will play a key role in enhancing standards of care through the ongoing development of diabetes research. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the well-established clinical and research team involved in diabetes research. You’ll be responsible for managing, developing and supporting the diabetes research network staff in the network. You’ll also manage, administer and facilitate specific research projects being undertaken within the Eastern Region Diabetes Research Network portfolio. This will involve recruitment, education and monitoring of volunteers in studies and the collection and documentation of accurate data. Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the clinical trials team, the general practices and the wider multidisciplinary team in the region are essential.
