The role of Science Officer will involve: Assisting in sourcing and creating content for the BSI’s membership newsletter Immunology News and monthly electronic bulletin eNews – including writing and editing where required; Developing and updating content for the BSI website; Assisting in the commissioning and administration of review content for the Society’s two journals, Immunology and Clinical & Experimental Immunology, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate scheduling – in liaison with the respective Editors-in-Chief and Production Editors; Assisting in the development of the BSI’s educational initiatives including liaison with the BSI Education Secretary, a professional researcher – from concept to reality; working with external stakeholders and suppliers, promoting via press and website and assisting in delivery. Ongoing initiatives include Bite-Sized Immunology and the Global Day of Immunology. Future plans include a newly updated careers booklet; Representing the BSI at external meetings, which might involve national and overseas travel, and promoting the Society’s journals with our publishers Wiley-Blackwell; Playing a key role in the organisation and delivery of BSI events.
