PhD Studentship, Royal Veterinary College, London

28 Jan 2009

A PhD studentship is available to study the roles of TGFβ factors in regulating angiogenesis in the pancreas of a knockout mouse model. It is becoming increasingly clear that TGFβ factors are involved in many cardiovascular disorders such as stroke, HHT and preeclampsia. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a field of major interest to the medical and scientific community. The successful candidate will carry out the research in newly furnished laboratories in the Basic Science Department of The Royal Veterinary College located in the heart of London, and will join a vibrant college‐wide research community with over 120 PhD students. The project spans physiology, signalling and molecular biology, hence the student is expected to receive training and acquire skills that will strongly add to his/her personal development as a reflective and technically competent researcher. Any enquiries should be directed to Dr Abir Mukherjee at: [email protected]. Application forms and further details can be found at the link below. Applications should be submitted by 13 February 2009 and the project will commence in October 2009.
