Fire retardant chemical found in children (Reuters, 4 September 2008)

A new study has found triple the levels of the hormone-disrupting compound PBDEs (polybrominated diphenyl ethers) in blood samples from children, compared to their mothers. The chemical is a fire retardant commonly found in electronics, furniture and toys.
