Public Event at the BA Festival of Science in Liverpool
We are delighted to announce that the Society is organising an event for the public at this year’s BA Festival of Science in Liverpool, in conjunction with the Biochemical Society and the Nutrition Society. The event, entitled 'Fat of the land or land of the fat?', will look at the science behind the UK's obesity epidemic, examining how genetics, lifestyle choices and environmental factors can interact to affect our weight and discussing whether there is any solution to Britain's ever-expanding waistlines. This free event will be chaired by BBC Radio 4's Quentin Cooper and will take place at 09:15-13:00, Monday 8 September 2008 at the Barkla Lecture Theatre, Chadwick Building, Liverpool University.
