In early March, we welcomed endocrinologists from around the world for SfE BES 2026 in the stunning Harrogate! We would like to thank all of members and everyone involved for their energy, curiosity and enthusiasm to make it another year to remember. It was wonderful to see the SfE community come together once more at our landmark event, and to mark the start of a very special year for the Society – our 80th anniversary!
Kicking off our packed Monday schedule, we began with the Endocrine Network sessions, followed by plenary discussions and the SfE Annual General Meeting, where our previous president, Márta Korbonits, stepped down and passed the torch to our newly appointed president, Kristien Boelaert.
We followed up on the second day with a full programme of nurses' sessions, talks from our latest award winners, meet the expert sessions, and oral poster presentations showcasing new endocrine research. The day highlighted the spirit of celebration and collaboration that defines SfE BES, as we recognised endocrinologists whose work continues to advance research and care across the field. At the Conference Dinner, the 80th celebrations continued to play a part with a fabulous cake cut by our outgoing president and newly appointed president.
As we wrapped up the conference on Wednesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming local schools to discover more about endocrinology, we heard from more legends in the field, and we gave out prizes for some of the best posters – what a way to end three amazing days!
Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who attended, presented, and contributed across the three days – SfE BES wouldn’t be the inspiring event it is without you, our members. Congratulations to all our prize and award winners; your work in endocrinology continues to inspire us all.
SfE BES 2026 was a fantastic way to kick off our 80th anniversary celebrations in style. As we look to the future of endocrinology, we’re excited to continue showcasing developments in the field and supporting our members to thrive in their roles.
We can't wait to do it all over again next year – save the date for SfE BES 2027, taking place in Harrogate from 8-10 March 2027.
