Society for Endocrinology BES 2012

We are delighted to bring the Society for Endocrinology BES back to Harrogate for 2012. Many of us are already familiar with the excellent congress centre and the lovely town and I’m sure we all look forward to sampling Yorkshire’s finest afternoon tea at ‘Betty’s tea shop’. Try not to stay there for too long though as you might miss some of the best of British and International basic science and translational research, clinical investigation and clinical practice in endocrinology. Please see the scientific programme for full details of the exciting programme we have lined up for you in 2012.

Harrogate is a picturesque town located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. This pretty market town is filled with boutiques, antique shops and fantastic accommodation. The conference facilities are excellent, the Harrogate International Centre being one of the largest venues outside of London. Harrogate is accessible via York or Leeds by train and provides easy access to both our northern and southern colleagues.

We will see plenary lectures from the nine medal winners, in addition to the twelve symposia, meet the expert and “How do I approach...” sessions, clinical debate, oral presentations, Nurses symposia, Young Endocrinologists’ symposium and of course the vibrant poster presentations. We are even taking the SfE BES to the Olympics with our ‘Sprint or Marathon? Muscling in on the Olympics’ symposium.

The Society offers a large number of travel grants, not just for undergraduate students and physicians and scientists-in-training, but also to established researchers in endocrinology. Please visit the grants section for further information.

The social programme will include all the favorites such as the Welcome Reception and the Young Endocrinologists’ quiz on Monday and the conference dinner on Tuesday evening.

The full programme is now available online
