We want people to be able to make better informed decisions about their health and are committed to disseminating accurate, quality information on hormones to the public. Our goal is to support our members (and others) to carry out effective public engagement activities, whether that is through the media, hands-on activities, public discussions, or via websites and online tools.
“I’ve never done any public engagement before and I felt it was time to give something back” – Derek Renshaw, Coventry
You and Your Hormones, a web-based project by the Society for Endocrinology that aims to give patients and the general public access to reliable online information on endocrine science.
Public Engagement Grants
Society members and public engagement professionals can apply for up to £1,000 to support the organisation and delivery of outreach activities aimed at school children and/or the general public. Application deadlines are 31 March and 30 September.
Working with the media
The Society's press office supports members to engage with the media. We work with members to produce press releases on their work, address misinformation about hormones in the news, and provide opportunities for media training.Find out more >
The Society and its members deliver hands-on activities at education and community events. Members can hone their science communication skills by volunteering with us. We are also working towards building a bank of resources and sharing them so that members can deliver tried-and-tested short activities.
