Matt Gage is a basic scientist (PhD Leeds University, postdocs at Leeds & UCL), based as a Senior Lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College in London.

Matt’s research is funded by Diabetes UK and the BHF to investigate why people with type 2 diabetes are at higher risk of developing cardiometabolic diseases. 

Matt’s research uses both female and male mouse models to investigate the role of macrophages, insulin and statins on cardiometabolic diseases and their sexual dimorphism.
