Society for Endocrinology - a world-leading authority on hormones

Professor Kristien Boelaert, based at the University of Birmingham, is a leading authority in thyroid disease research. As a Consultant Endocrinologist at University Hospitals Birmingham, she's published over 180 papers and accumulated £8 million in research grants. Boelaert was the first recipient of the Society for Endocrinology's Outstanding Clinical Practitioner Award and led the NICE Guidelines on Thyroid Diseases. She holds memberships in several guideline panels, including RCOG Green-Top and the American Thyroid Association. Currently, Boelaert is the President-Elect of the British Thyroid Association and Chair of the Clinical Committee of the Society for Endocrinology.
