Volunteer to support STEM education

21 Feb 2021

The charity, In2scienceUK, is running a summer programme that empowers low-income and disadvantaged Year 12 students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to pursue careers in STEM. It is looking for STEM academics and professionals to volunteer to help to support these young people by providing virtual and in-person mentoring opportunities.

After a hugely successful digital transformation in 2020, this summer they will be delivering the In2scienceUK programme online. with additional in-person experiences (COVID-19 restrictions permitting).

The programme currently covers the following regions: Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Canterbury, Cardiff, Coventry, Exeter, Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Lutterworth, Manchester, Oxford, Reading, Warwick, Welwyn and Wolverhampton.

You can sign up to volunteer as a mentor here. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2021.

You can also join a virtual talk and Q&A session about volunteering as a mentor on Wednesday 10 March from 4pm-5pm.
