The Science Media Centre (SMC) is an independent venture working to promote the voices, stories and views of the scientific community to the national news media when science is in the headlines.

Their popular Introduction to the News Media events provide an invaluable introduction to the purpose and process of science reporting for scientists and engineers with little or no media experience. Whilst the event is not designed to prepare scientists for interviews, it will give those who ae interested in interacting with the media a good understanding of how the system works.
