Regulation of osterix

04 Nov 2009

Osterix, a gene transcription factor expressed in differentiating osteoblasts, has been suggested to play a part in tumour growth and metastasis. Hong et al. have demonstrated that in osteoblastic cell lines prolonged exposure to parathyroid hormone inhibits osterix expression, findings that could be beneficial in regulating bone tumour activity.
