We’re currently keen to appoint scientist members of the Society for Endocrinology to join the editorial board of the Society’s quarterly online magazine The Endocrinologist.
The editorial board, supported by the Managing Editor, aim to put together a quarterly publication that showcases the latest thinking in all areas of endocrinology, as well as news and issues that affect clinicians, scientists and nurses, at all career stages, working in the field of endocrinology. The magazine should foster a sense of community and loyalty.
Duties of editorial board members include:
- Attending and contributing to four virtual Editorial Board meetings per year, and contributing to occasional email discussion in between as required.
- Maintaining an overview of the magazine’s content to ensure that it is representative of members’ interests and in line with the Society’s aims.
- Identifying potential themes for future issues and articles/authors as part of the issue planning process.
- Contacting potential authors to commission articles, including follow up if no response.
- Updating a shared spreadsheet with commissioning progress.
- Reviewing all material to decide on its suitability in terms of subject, interest, quality and topic.
- Writing ‘hot topics’ from the latest journal articles.
- Working with the Society team to ensure that the production schedule runs smoothly.
- Promoting the magazine among your network (for instance by posting or sharing posts on social media).
The role term is two years, with an optional extension of two years. Note that you must be a member of the Society to apply. If you are not currently a member, you must be willing to join if your application is successful and you wish to take up the post.

Successful applicants will be offered an induction meeting in January 2026, and your first board meeting will be in February/March 2026.
