The Wellcome Trust have declared a new theme and a new call for proposals for their Health Innovation Challenge Fund, designed to stimulate the creation of innovative healthcare products, technologies and interventions, and facilitate their development for the benefit of patients in the NHS and beyond.

The current theme is time-critical interventions. Early recognition of symptoms, prompt diagnosis and effective intervention can have a significant impact on acutely ill patients, improving both the provision and outcome of healthcare. Proposals for innovative solutions to time-critical problems involving anything from novel diagnostic advances to paper-based techniques are welcome.

Proposals should demonstrate the ability to provide a healthcare outcome within three to five years from the date of the funding decision. The deadline for preliminary applications is 17:00, 4 May 2010. Please follow the link below for more infomation.
