Equality, diversity and inclusion working group

Working to ensure Society opportunities are accessible for all members, whatever their geographical location, personal background or work setting.

Following the Society’s Governance Review in 2021, a working group was formed to develop the outputs of the review that related to equality, diversity and inclusion.

The group held its inaugural meeting at the end of July 2022 where two important work streams were established:

  • to review membership pricing and processes to determine if these may be barriers to joining the Society
  • to increase participation of underrepresented groups in Society activities

Work is now underway on these with the aim of having a set of recommendations by the end of the year.  These will be shared with the membership in January 2023 for feedback, prior to being presented to Council in early 2023.
