Conflict of interest policy (grants)

The majority of grants are reviewed by the Grants Panel, members of which are derived primarily from the Science Committee and the Clinical Committee

Where a Grants Panel member has a conflict of interest with an applicant for any of the grants within its remit, the Grants Panel member stands down from the selection process for that applicant.

If the Chairman of the Grants Panel or any other panel member wishes to make an application, they stand down from the marking process and will nominate an alternative person drawn from either the Science or Clinical Committees.

If the number of Grants Panel members without a conflict of interest is insufficient for any round of marking, additional reviewers will be sought from the members with the most relevant experience.
