Coronavirus update

COVID-19 (coronavirus)

SfE BES 2020 will run from 16-18 November 2020 as planned.

We are aware that the Harrogate Convention Centre (HCC) is going to be used as a Nightingale hospital as part of the effort to tackle the global Covid-19 pandemic.

We are in regular conversation with the HCC and we are currently planning for SfE BES to run from 16-18 November 2020 as planned.

Over the coming weeks and months we will learn more about the impact of the pandemic. Throughout this time we will continue to develop appropriate contingency plans and we will keep you informed along the way. The most up to date information will always be posted on this webpage.

Endocrine Academy 2020 (Clinical Update, Endocrine Nurse Update and Career Development Workshop) will be postponed.

The Society has been closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), Public Health England and the government, as well as actively following travel advisories and restrictions being placed on hospitals and institutions with regards to COVID-19. The health and wellbeing of our attendees and organisers is our number one priority and we are sensitive to the additional pressures on the NHS. After careful consideration it has been decided to follow the recommendation from the Society’s Officers and to postpone Endocrine Academy until the latter part of 2020.

We are currently working to secure alternative dates at Hilton Birmingham Metropole, and will share these once confirmed.

We thank you for your support, further announcements will be made here.

The health and wellbeing of our attendees and organisers is our number one priority; The Society will continue to carefully monitor the situation and will follow official public health advice. If the situation changes we will announce it here.
