Accepted abstracts are presented at the event either as a poster, e-poster or as an oral presentation. They will also be published online in Endocrine Abstracts - A Society owned, fully citable, open access journal of the events publications.

Abstracts are accepted on the understanding that the work has not been published or presented elsewhere, excluding associated Society for Endocrinology events.

If your case is accepted for presentation you will also be entitled to a discounted publication in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Case Reports, a Society for Endocrinology-endorsed online resource.

Submission details

The abstract should be no longer than 300 words (including numbers, symbols and tables) and you must select one category from the list below. Full format and guidelines of abstracts can be seen in the online submission form.

Please note, you will be required to register to the abstract submission system and then verify your email address before being able to submit your abstract.

The Society of Endocrinology hopes to attract a wide range of endocrinology related research to this meeting.

Please note that case reports will only be accepted if they illustrate something significantly new or particularly unusual in the clinical caseload of the submitting endocrine unit.


Accepted abstracts may be considered for a range of prizes and awards which are presented during the conference and recognised at the Society for Endocrinology BES 2019 Awards Ceremony.

Conditions of acceptance

Abstracts are accepted on the understanding that they will be presented at the meeting either as a poster or as an oral presentation. Any author failing to present an accepted abstract at this meeting will automatically be excluded from submitting any future abstracts.

The Programme Committee reserves the right of the final decision regarding acceptance of abstracts and the form of presentation. Abstracts are marked blind (anonymously).

Please note that the reviewing panel for abstracts submitted to the nursing category predominantly includes nurses.

Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to authors in August 2019, before the early bird deadline in September 2019.

Detailed instructions concerning oral presentations and poster sessions will be emailed to qualifying authors with notification of acceptance.

Please note, abstracts that are accepted as poster presentations will need to be displayed on A0 portrait poster boards.
