Dear Friends and Colleagues,
After careful deliberation by SfE Council, it has been decided that the SfE BES conference will not take place in person this year.
We know this will cause disappointment to many, however, we believe this decision is in the best interests of our community as we consider the ongoing effects of the pandemic. Many factors were considered in making this decision and we have also listened closely to our members. However, ultimately the Council were in agreement that the right decision is to not hold our much-loved event in person this November.
Whilst we may not be able to meet in person, the Society for Endocrinology will still bring you some of the very best of the SfE BES programme in a new free to members virtual meeting.
Taking place digitally from 16- 20 November 2020, “SfE BES Online” will consist of the most exciting content including the inaugural Presidential Lecture from Professor Robert Lefkowitz (New York, USA), the Medal and Prize Lectures, The What is New session, a COVID-19 and Endocrinology session, content from our sponsors, and updates within each endocrine network community. The remainder of the programme, including abstracts, will be transferred to the November 2021 conference.
We would like to thank you for your ongoing patience, understanding and support of SfE BES and the difficult decisions we have had to take in these unprecedented times. We very much hope you will join us as we look to go digital for the first time in this event’s history. Please follow the link below to register, and we look forward to seeing you online in November.
With best wishes
Professor Rajesh Thakker, President
Professor Duncan Bassett, SfE BES Programme Secretary
