Professor Nelly Pitteloud is a global leader in Reproductive Endocrinology, who assumed direction of the Endocrinology, Diabetes & Paediatric Service at Lausanne University Hospital in 2010, following 12 hugely productive years spend at Harvard with Bill Crowley at Harvard.  She received continuous funding support from NIH and the Swiss National Science Foundation and established an EU-COST (Cooperation for Science and Technology) programme to create a collaborative and synergistic community of clinicians, scientists and patients focused on neuroendocrine control of reproduction.

She has broken new ground in our understanding of the central control of reproduction, including the oligogenic inheritance of congenital GnRH deficiency, genetic involvement of FGF, AMH and DCC pathways in GnRH neuron ontogeny, and placing CHARGE syndrome, CPHD and hypothalamic amenorrhoea within the genetic spectrum of CHH-related conditions.  She is widely recognized for the originality of her scientific thinking and her commitment to teaching and mentoring young clinicians and investigators.
