CoMICs is a unique initiative, aimed at engaging medical students with specific conditions or diseases. 

Supported by the Institute of Metabolism and Systems Research at the University of Birmingham, CoMICs compiles illustrations and infographics into short videos that provide bite-sized information on various topics. Each CoMIC provides the most up-to-date scientific information on a specific condition or a disease. As they are created by medical students and junior doctors they are pitched at the optimum level for understanding. Each video is critically reviewed for accuracy by leading experts in that specific field based both in the UK and internationally. 

The initiative engages medical students making them aware how diverse and interesting endocrinology is and help attract the next generation of good quality doctors. Early career researchers with a special interest in a condition or disease are also invited to contribute to CoMICs. 

CoMICs launched in September last year and includes five videos on the adrenal glands and four videos on diabetes. More videos on thyroid and pituitary glands are planned, with the help of Prof Kristien Boelaert and Dr Niki Karavitaki.
