Via http://ec.europa.eu/euraxess. Applications are open for a postdoctoral position at the University of Crete, Greece to study novel hormone effects on liver fibrosis. The researcher will participate in a project that will include study of human samples, in vitro studies in cell lines and primary cell cultures and in vivo studies in rodents. Data collection and analysis will be a major part of the researcher’s work.

The successful candidate will study the role of a specific molecule in the development of liver fibrosis. The applicant should have a solid background in major molecular biology techniques and the use of small animals. The researcher will need to generate mouse models of liver fibrosis (already performed in the receiving lab) and possibly participate in the development of a transgenic mouse.
