C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) is a 22 amino acid compound expressed across the central nervous system and other tissues including key endocrine tissues such as the pituitary, bone, gonads and kidneys.

This three year studentship, supported by a Wellcome Trust grant, will investigate the role of two different CNP-encoding genes in development, using transgenic zebrafish lines and investigating CNP's effect on the pituitary and bone tissue.
