Host the Clinical Endocrinology Trust Visiting Professor

We are pleased to announce that Professor Chris Thompson will be joining our plenary lecturers at SfE BES this year.
The Visiting Professor tours up to 5 endocrine centres in the UK in the run up to the conference. The programme for the day visit is entirely up to you and may, if travel schedule allows, involve an evening dinner. If you would like to be considered to host a visit, please contact us by Friday 6 April 2018.
All costs for the visit except travel and accommodation are borne by the host institution.
About the Visiting Professor
Professor Thompson qualified from Dundee University in 1981 and trained in postgraduate endocrinology in Newcastle upon Tyne, Edinburgh, San Francisco, and Dundee; before his appointment as Consultant Endocrinologist and Senior Lecturer in Medicine in Glasgow. He has worked in Beaumont Hospital/RCSI Medical School, Dublin, for the last 21 years, where he is Professor of Endocrinology and Clinical Director of Medicine.
His research interests are pituitary tumours, salt and water balance, and pituitary complications of neurosurgical conditions.
Selected lectures/MtP/tutorial topics include: diabetes insipidus, clinical approach to hyponatraemia, management of SIAD, hyponatraemia and steroid deficiency, neurosurigcal hyponatraemia, hypopituitarism after traumatic brain injury/subarachnoid haemorrhage, hypothalamic complications of craniopharyngioma, adipsic diabetes insipidus.
