Applications are invited for a new Clinical Lecturer in Diabetes within the Academic Unit of Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolism, which has been created as part of an initiative to build the academic presence of diabetes, and offer candidates a programme of Integrated Academic Training and a comprehensive experience of clinical academic medicine, working alongside internationally renowned clinicians and researchers. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual wishing to excel in both their clinical and academic training and who has the ambition to be the next generation of world-leading academic clinicians.

The post is tenable for up to four years during which it is expected that the Clinical Lecturer will complete their specialty training. Applicants need to be able to demonstrate evidence of academic achievement and to have successfully completed a PhD/MD. They will also be eligible to hold an NTN or may already hold an NTN, having undertaken some training at Specialist Registrar level or equivalent. The post holder will spend 50% of their time in clinical training and 50% undertaking research and academic training. The deadline for applications is 7 September 2009.
