The deadline for applications for a new initiative from the Society- the Postgraduate Essay Prize - is fast approaching. A prize of £1,000 will be awarded to the winning entry, which must be on a topical endocrine subject and readily understood by an educated lay person. Essays should be fun and engaging and of a standard between New Scientist and the science pages of a quality broadsheet newspaper.
