Via healthjobsuk.com. Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Endocrinology and General Medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The Endocrine unit, part of the Institute of Metabolic Science, provides secondary and tertiary endocrine services to the Eastern region and beyond, and has developed an international reputation for its research and clinical activities.

The work of the unit encompasses all areas of endocrinology and is underpinned by close links with departments of Clinical Biochemistry, Radiology, Neurosurgery, Nuclear Medicine and Oncology, each of which has state-of-the-art facilities and with whom interdisciplinary meetings and clinics are held. A multi-bedded, investigation unit and team of specialist nurses facilitates dynamic testing and procedure-based clinics. Outpatient clinics are conducted in the dedicated Wolfson Diabetes & Endocrine Clinic. As part of a team of consultants, the postholder will be expected to contribute to both outpatient and inpatient services. There is much opportunity for research in IMS and this is actively encouraged.

Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview. Substantial clinical experience in tertiary-level endocrinology, with an interest in endocrine oncology, would be an advantage.
