Research Associate in Airway Pharmacology

The position of Research Associate in Airway Pharmacology is available within the School of Translational Medicine, University of Manchester. The successful candidate will work on a project investigating airway inflammation in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The role will focus on nuclear hormone receptors in airway macrophages, including glucocorticoid, liver X and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors, and investigating the mechanisms by which these receptors suppress inflammatory genes. Techniques will include cell culture, PCR, siRNA, protein quantification and immunoflourescence imaging. This post is tenable for 12 months in the first instance.
