Royal College of Physicians Public Open Day: Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the NHS

28 May 2008

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP), London are holding a public open day on Saturday 5 July 2008, the 60th anniversary of the NHS. If you want to be a doctor, like modern architecture, enjoy history or want to find out what we did before the NHS was established, this is the event for you! With free admission, the open day will be fun and interactive with hands-on activities from practising resuscitation to being tested for allergies. A session on 'Medical education and training - from student to consultant' aims to provide young people with an interest in medicine with an insight into life as a medical student and postgraduate training. The open day will feature historical characters bringing to life how the NHS was established, and what life was like for patients in the 1940s, before the NHS.
