Future delivery of endocrine care in the NHS

An opportunity for you to learn and comment on the work of the Society's Clinical Committee in responding to recent consultations on how endocrine care will be delivered in the NHS. The session will be chaired by Professor Peter Trainer (Chair, SfE Clinical Committee), who will structure the session to ensure delegates have the opportunity to contribute their thoughts on this topic. The meeting will take place at 6-7.30pm, Tuesday 17 March 2009 in the Queen's Suite.

Late effects of cancer treatment

The Society has formed a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in order to provide a focus for sub-specialities within endocrinology. This meeting has been organised to discuss the proposal of setting up of a SIG to focus on the late effects of cancer treatment. The meeting will take place at 12pm, Thursday 19 March 2009 in the Conference Suite. The session will be chaired by Dr Andy Toogood, and is open for all conference delegates to come along and share their ideas and thoughts on the issues to be addressed by this new SIG.

Special Interest Group Satellites

Following the success of holding these sessions last year, at this year’s SfE BES three of the Society’s SIGs (PCOS, Andrology and Pituitary) have organised their sessions to start in parallel at 10.45am on Monday morning – remember that registration is open from 9am. The Steroid SIG is holding its session at 6.10pm on Wednesday evening in parallel with the one being organised by Novo Nordisk.
