New study suggests interacting with dogs can reduce cortisol levels

A study measuring brain waves with electrodes, published in PLOS One, has found that interaction with dogs may reduce stress and depression in humans. Researchers found that when playing with, walking, or stroking dogs, human cortisol levels were reduced, and oxytocin levels increased.
