Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) aims to raise awareness of the commercialisation of bioscience research amongst postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers. Participants compete in teams to develop a hypothetical business idea with the help of expert mentors from the biotechnology sector. Workshops are held throughout the UK, feeding into a National Final with a prize of £1000 for the winning team.

The 2009 YES Competition has been launched with a closing date for entries of 17 June 2009. The workshops will take place in September, October and November with the Final scheduled for December 2009. Sponsorship has been secured from various industries.
